... Sforzesco for a brief walk around - it is huge and beautifully built with rounded brick turrets and huge courtyards. We decided not to catch the metro but walk through the city, it is more interesting that way. We then visited the Duomo for an inside look. Out of nowhere appear gentlemen of African descent on every corner selling umbrellas, taking advantage of the situation as their normal handbag ...

Arriving in Milan late Monday afternoon left us no time for museums or churches, but we made good use of our evening exploring the Brera neighborhood, enjoying one last pizza, and wandering streets up to the Duomo -- for gelato from Grom and for last looks at the Galleria and extraordinary ...

... over Europe, the cathedral is covered in scaffolding but it doesn't take away from the magnificence of this church. The detail is astounding. It's free to enter but you pay to go up to the terraces and the museum. No one else was interested so I gave it a miss. Peter had been before and Sandra wasn't sure about the height!! Andrew wasn't fussed either. That's what travelling with others is all about.....compromise!! I ...
