    ... TV news in Britain . Our first glimpse of the place is a surprise. Descending from the motorway, we catch a quick view of a long, sunny, sandy bay with a promenade. We have chosen our hotel, Hotel Termas Marinas El Palasiet, because it looks easy to find, appears clean and comfortable and has access to parking. Since we are only one night customers, we expect that we may be given an ordinary room. What a surprise! ...

The streets were packed with tables and chairs, mostly long trestle tables all joined together. Street after street after street. Up the sides of the streets - bonfires! This time though, the bonfires were for cooking purposes.....large, flat frying ...

    ... back up the street, turned and raced at full gallop back down - they were then let through to the next street where the same thing happened! This happened on every street.....for three laps!!! This was clearly a tradition. It was unbelievable.....it was unbelievably dangerous...not so much for us, but this is a family event - I guess the kids have been brought up with this and know not to step into a bonfire or eight pairs of thundering ...

    We continued to wander the streets, till we got to the large city park. Spanich families were entertaining their children on the swings – children Ethan's age were playing soccer, their skills amazing.

    We caught the bus back to the ship for an afternoon ...

    ... the festival the one which is the best is put into the museum and the rest our burned!!! We again board the bus for Barcelona! We made our first "comfort stop" at the AutoGrill and had lunch!
