Today we had a cooking class at our bed and breakfast in Assisi. Letizia was a great teacher and cook. We were also joined by another guest from England. We made a lentil, tomato and mozzarella salad, a spinach fritatta, stringozzi pasta, and limoncello melon panacotta for desert. ... to use, as well as an amenity pack with socks, sleep mask, earplugs, toothbrush, etc. For dinner we had an appetizer, beef tenderloin and Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert. ... We both had boar again and were as pleased as the previous night.

Never a dull moment, off to hear a trumpet recital. A group of americans were touring Italy and giving recitals. Why not. Didn't recognise anything but it didn't matter.

Home to our fabulous hotel. Not sure why they weren't busier, as it was a grand old building in a great location. A bit tired, but with an old world charm and service, and spotlessly clean.

... br> Lovely afternoon, no great distance to travel, no rush, so took the scenic cross-country route towards Orvieto. Hilltop forts and castles, lush vegetation, little traffic -very pleasant. First views of Orvieto were impressive, and, of course, nowhere to stop for that breath taking shot.

Found Hotel Maitani just off Piazza Duomo as the drizzle ...
