    ... Fiats, Mercedes, Mini Coopers, Citroen, Peugot. Saw a few Fords and Jeeps. No billboards anywhere so the road trip was lovely. Farm land, cows, green hills and mountains. There are a lot of little villages on hilltops as well as Medieval structures that constantly remind you about how old this area of the world is. They do have some modern moments like the Sunpass equivalent (photo attached.) You cannot come to Italy without going to Assisi. Unless you hate history ...

    ... all sorts of truffle products , but I realised that I would not be able to fool those cute beagle "sniffer" dogs at Australian customs.
    So..... We settled for lunch of fresh tagliatelle laced with truffle oil and with white summer truffle shaved on top - Bellissimo !!

    We stopped first in Ravenna today to see its ceramics and the tomb of Dante. The ceramics were nice but having seen the Blue Mosque eand Hagia Sofia in Istanbul I wasn't too impressed.
