Walked into town and had my haircut. A great feeling to have it cut after so long. Then to the bakery to say hi to Eva. We went for a walk in the afternoon to the Makkum beach and a quiet beer. Then a nice evening and dinner in a very old restaurant by the canal. It's great to live so close to walk to the shops restaurants beach harbour in a town with plenty interesting of ...

Today Gitta and Paula drove us over the big Afsluitdyke! I've been wanting to see this! We stopped at the monument and took in the views. There is a monument to the man Lely who was behind the dyke being built. The dyke is 7m above average sea level and about 30km long. Quite a lot of people driving and cycling across today. We stopped a bit further along to have our lunch on the dyke. Very nice. Next a drive down through Friesland to ...

... in the water. It was too cold to go in completely but I needed to get my feet wet so I could claim I had dipped my toes in the North Sea. =)

We rode back to the main town and Brian immediately had some ice cream. I had a great pastry with fruit on top and then we decided we needed more coffee. We went back to the restaurant where we had lunch and ordered 2 coffees. I was tired and I proceeded to put on my sunglasses and my sun visor (it was cloudy) right ...
