    ... China is a ridiculously wealthy country and we really saw that in Beijing and Shanghai. It's incredibly powerful but isolated from the rest of the world in a way. People seem to like their way of living, very little people speak english and we didn't find out if it was through lack of interest or bad schooling.     ... but it didn't say so!! We saw some very unusual navigation marks red and blue circles!! They are certainly not in the Cevni regulations. We did see a ferry with a green circle on and this is the first one to actually show the Cevni sign. Then it really started to tip it down so we tried a cover at first which helped but the wind got up and so we had to steer from inside.

    ... plenty of history,more relaxed and was well worth visiting. On the home front ,our exchange home is really lovely and comfortable,super market shopping is by bike.There are designated bike lanes everywhere for the thousands of bikes in a futile attempt to alleviate traffic.Some bikes can even be folded up to take on the train and one street entertainer even had his piano attached to his bike so he could just ride ...
