Today I emailed with a friend in Jakarta. I hope she can help me finding our pembantu (Indonesian for Maid) Sammie. It would be nice if we could meet with her again. At that time we lived at Jl Musholla 23 in Cilandak-Timur. We took Sammie with us when we moved from Ujung Pandang to Jakarta. When we left we paid for her ticket home. After a hot and longer than expected ride from the German border to Beekbergen on Thursday, it was refreshing to arrive at the Golden Tulip de Wipzelberg, a lovely resort in the middle of a forest. ... is a destination onto itself and we need to give it the time it so deserves. So.....I guess this could be one of our next big trips. It seems like we are not yet done with South America, even after this second adventure.
The thing is: I don't mind a bit. South America has captured my heart big time.
Thanks to my lovely and knowledgable friend Ella, we set off across Holland to Marken and Monnickendam.
We drove for about an hour in the rain across Holland to the little town of Marken, which Ella had told us was an example of a true old fashioned Dutch town.
