A nice afternoon and evening with cousin Saskia, Mark Tante Nelly and Oom Henk.

The weather was perfect for a tree top walk and Heather Walk at Het Boomkroonpad.

An early morning start for me to get to Roelof and Janny's place in Gorredijk. Then we were off to Urk, a fishing village which was once an island. The weather was great to sit outside and enjoy coffee and lunch and a stroll around the village.
We returned to Gorredijk and then rode bicycles through the woods and countryside to find a lovely quiet place to enjoy afternoon tea, in the sunshine.

... our country village strolls we discovered the coolest farm gates ever made. It's like an entire tree has been used. We were impressed. It's hard to explain but I feel like a photo should be sufficient. We also try another cafe where they serve a miniature whiskey ice cream on the side of your coffee plate, it was surprisingly yummy!
