... Chateau de Chenonceau. This one was Mummy's favourite. It looked like the Disneyland castle! After walking through a beautiful grove, Ben noticed 2 statutes that looked Egyptian. As well as having a castle that was beautiful (home to 5 French Queens), it had excellent gardens with beautiful fountains. Ben and Jon had fun running through the gardens. After all this, it was finally time to drive to our hotel in Tours for a well earned ...

One of the important things about choosing the emplacement at the campsite is how near the toilets are from your pitch. Our toilets and showers are about 15 yards away. Pretty close! With only 50 kms to Sully sur Loire, we arrived before lunch, and after not seeing our mates all morning, they rode past us as we entered town. There was much waving and Bonjours. For once, we found our hotel easily. It's a beautiful little boutique hotel, with only 9 rooms, ...

We woke to a beautiful morning and crossed over the Loire, with the early sun making the river look like molten silver. We arrived at the magnificent Chateau Chambord. As the ride had taken us less time than we expected we were there well before opening hours, and were able to take our photos without anybody else in them. The wealth of the aristocrats was something to behold, no wonder there was a revolution. Thankfully these ...
