... everything just flashed by! Still lovely though.

Made all our connections, with an hour break in Tours, so we went out for a short walk. From what we did see, the best place was the railway station, which was very ornate.

Back to Bayeux and making dinner, even though I wondered if I had forgotten how to cook (steak, vegetables and salad!) then off to bed!

... to visit Hotel Groslot (known for its opulence) but there was wedding party just arriving. The day was overcast and there were a few light showers at times. I returned to the hotel late afternoon and the sun appeared so opened the curtains and laid on the bed enjoying the sun and reading news and emails. A final swim in the pool and re-match of volleyball (joined by a rust-coloured toad who fancied a dip) before packing and eating up the fridge again!

We drove up north to an Ecoparc which we finally found, despite poor signage and it was worth the hunt! Forest and open countryside led to a hide/lookout over a large Etang (one of many in the area - man-made lakes teaming with fish and bird life). As you drive along the roads, you see etangs on ...
