My last two days in Tenerife

... be best to sleep in, enjoy my final day on the island, and take a much deserved trip to Las Terecitas! I woke up to eat breakfast, took a quick shower, threw on my beach clothes and ran down to the tram. Along the way, I picked up a few friends from the hospitals, and we decided it'd be cool to get some lunch before hitting the beach. Of all things we could find in Santa Cruz, we decided Subway was the best option, so I did in fact have a foot long Ham/Turkey Sub on Honey Oat bread ...

... pain. Laura was the resident we followed today, and she was very nice. She was super eager to practice her English with us, and since Mary Hunter doesn't speak much Spanish, I conceded to speaking mostly English in today's shadowing experience. The town buzzes with tourists from all over Europe and their languages sound like various parts of a great orchestra with differing tones and sounds, some are soft and smooth, others seem to flow up and down the scales in staccato while the ...

Week3---WEEKEND---week4

... trip, and since it's been awhile since any of us have had semi-American food, we all dug in.

The next morning, we went on a hike in a northern part of the island called Teno--a mountainous region. Since we were at such a high elevation, the vegetation was very similar to that of deserts--all kinds of cactus and weird flowers/shrubs that only grow in places where water is in short supply. The views from the trail were totally amazing; we were right on the edge of the ...
