My last two days in Tenerife

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 21, 2014

... is a better appreciation for myself and how I'm different and similar from my peers; I've learned that I can't always fit in with others, that I'm not always going to be able to follow along or go with the crowd. Instead, I've decided that the best thing for me to do is to find those who I can connect with at any time they give me and enjoy that time to its maximum potential. Even if it's just a quick coffee in the hospital café, a tram ride back to the residencia, a run ...

Gynecology

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 16, 2014

Week 5 is here! I can't believe how fast this whole experience has gone by! It feels like just yesterday I was anxiously running around the airport hopelessly trying to make it to my terminal on time, and now here I am running around La Laguna as if it were my home town.

The four hour flight from Gatwick was wonderful, (mainly because I had spent too long grounded in the UK), regretfully the airport assistance was needed to transfer me from the check-in to the aircraft. ...

Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

... trip, and since it's been awhile since any of us have had semi-American food, we all dug in.

The next morning, we went on a hike in a northern part of the island called Teno--a mountainous region. Since we were at such a high elevation, the vegetation was very similar to that of deserts--all kinds of cactus and weird flowers/shrubs that only grow in places where water is in short supply. The views from the trail were totally amazing; we were right on the edge of the ...
