Wanted to stop the train and go and play in it!! Travelled all the way to Chur on the Rhine river and then went back up into the mountains. The higher we got the weather cleared & saw some sensational scenery...this is what ...

Of course too early to check in to our hotel room so we left our luggage at the Alphorn and were back on the local train system again heading for altitude. Wendy had mapped out a day of activity that would have challenged the most energetic after a good nights sleep let alone weary travellers who had yet to see a good bed after 28 hours. So we took the cog wheel trains up, up and up and it got colder ...

... had our tickets to Lauterbrunnen. As we got closer, the mountains began to surround us and we fell more and more in love. We were also relieved to feel the temperature had dropped and yes!! Snow on the surrounding peaks!

We found our hotel with little difficulty at Lauterbrunnen though unfortunately it was a little dodgy. We loved the added touch of the light fixture right outside our door half hanging off! The staff ...
