... museums. They had things from both sides including actual uniforms worn by German and American Generals. The full sized tank was really cool as was the 3D movie of all the events leading up to the Bulge. Since I had my eye on something else later that day, I sort of rushed through the museum to move on to the highlight of the day.....finding the foxholes out in the Ardennes!

... Germans breaking the line, in their minds, would cause Americans to lose the stomach for battle (not likely) and possibly create more tense friction between American and British command. The Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes (a forest region) was the Germans last hope at possibly regaining momentum in the war and possibly bringing the Allies to the peace table. ... destination,
Luxembourg. Since it was on our way back to Switzerland we decided to check it
out. Our route took us through the Ardennes to a small village called
Kautenbach. The area is beautiful and our campsite was nestled into the bottom
of a valley and surrounded by forested mountains on all sides. The campsite was
very pretty and comfortable, but being at the bottom of a valley was pretty
      cold as well.

... assessed we went to explore old town.

Old town was really pretty. Nice blue stone buildings all from the local quarry. A castle and a church in the heart of town. There were two similar rock structures which we still don't know quite what they were. These were round semi circles in the rock face. Estimating about 20m high... so large.

Once we explored the town we went to the larges topiary garden open to the public IN THE WORLD. ...
