... It was exactly as expected: a seaside resort hotel. A nice room and we will see what dinner brings.

I knew I was going to spend the day in Brugge and just spend the night in Brussels before my flight to Italy. Once again in the morning, Jaey and I went out for breakfast. This time he wanted me to try a local type of sandwich (which now I cannot remember the name of) since we were eating a bit later around 11.

Our first weekend in Gent was cut short when our friend Saskia suggested a spur of the moment trip to the beach near Vlissingen, Netherlands. So late Saturday evening the three of us hopped on a train to Antwerp and connected to the cute town of Essen where Saskia lives, which is only 10 minutes from the Netherlands and only an hour from the sunny shore of the North Sea.

The evening was kicked off with a celebratory(Kansas-Gent connection reunion; ...
