... Team Maui (Kevin and Laura)! We all took the short ferry ride together but we stopped for ice cream. The rest of the "teams" continued on or perhaps stayed in the town to eat a bit down the way.

Once we got to Vlissingen, it was very difficult to find the hotel. Once we got to the train station, we thought it was a short ride over but we quickly realized that we had to cross over another canal with locks (which were opening and we had to wait for) ...

... seconds after falling asleep, Saskia woke us up with fresh brewed coffee and breakfast. Shortly after we were on the road to the beach. (It still kills me how easy it is to spend the weekend in a different country!) It was the perfect Sunday; sun, sand, ocean, and friends. Us Kansans thought the water was a bit too brisk to really swim in, but Saskia didn't waste any time before diving right in. We were happy enough to read and nap on the beach :) We ...

... which was a little interesting but I do not think it was worth the price we paid. You got to see a praline chocolate being made and got to try one, which redeemed it a little. But it had lego displays.

That night was a free walking tour and I was not sure if I was going to do it. But I thought why not it may change my opinion of Bruges. I am glad that I did as I had so much fun that night. The tour itself was a well-oiled act by the guide but it was still funny ...
