Our first weekend in Gent was cut short when our friend Saskia suggested a spur of the moment trip to the beach near Vlissingen, Netherlands. So late Saturday evening the three of us hopped on a train to Antwerp and connected to the cute town of Essen where Saskia lives, which is only 10 minutes from the Netherlands and only an hour from the sunny shore of the North Sea.
