The ants in the bathroom

While the hotel I stayed at in Niamey was nice, they didn't clean my room the whole time I was there. So, these weird ant-like insects were getting into my bathroom by the light above the mirror. At first, I was disgusted by it. But I became more and more fascinated by them. The were building this tunnel up the side of the wall of my bathroom. I decided not to clear it away because I wanted to watch their progress throughout ...

Wh**eas h**e, I couldn't pick the neighbours out in a line-up and the only p**son who regularly greets in one of the 15 guardiens I walk past between my house and the office. Also, in Parakou I am one of, at most, 30 white people. Niamey, on the oth** hand, is absolutely crawling with white people! Having had far more significant (and well ...

another journey

... or much in the way of food. I've heard so many horrid bus trip stories from 'real travell**s' and lonely planet types that I feel like maybe now I can join their ranks, particularly now that my visa collection is growing and my passport looks nicely beat up thanks to being in a bag with a leaky bottle on the trip to Cotonou. Oh, and I've changed the mark** on the map with this entry just because I love to see new lines on my map.

Gaining a hold on its target it withdrew bringing forth the foreign matt**, which was exp**tly projected in a p**fect parabolic arc into the neighbouring table's ashtray. I was quite speechless for a moment before switching on my oratorical autopilot pre-programmed with standard evasive responses I've accumulated for these v**y kinds of situations. She didn't seem all that put out and instead proceeded to spend all my drink change on a range ...

He didn't make us buy the weird concoction and told us to go with God. In Ghana, if you said you wanted something and then said you didn't th**e would be hell to pay, but in ***** it was so relaxed. Joe and I visited the National Museum, which was amazingly well put togeth ...
