    The grotto was beautiful. The rock walls were freezing to the touch. But there was a sense of tranquility as we sat and prayed. Cherry and I walked the mountain to see the Stations of the Cross and drank the Holy Water from the Grotto. There were lots of people waiting to go into the baths but you weren't allowed to watch.     ... We stood on the ramp to the upper basilica, so the procession passed by just below us. Pilgrims, including sick and elderly in wheelchairs attended by volunteers flowed by in endless procession, then turned into the square, processed around it (several hundred metres up and back) then passed in front of us again (in zigzag loops, so they could all fit).
