We are staying here for another day. We aren't sure yet where we will go after this. But there are several places that we are considering, including Orleans, Blois and Chinon. It was a watery sun this morning. Lunch with Sue and Tony in Les Rairies. It is so good to catch up with someone who has been a friend for over 40 years. The rain started after lunch and we quickly did the shopping we needed before heading back to Monty. We found when we were at a previous aire, ...

Hugely misty this morning. Getting out of Nantes was a bit of a nightmare as Snooper froze again. I suppose that she wasn't getting a good gps signal with all the trees. But we did eventually get on the autoroute and headed off to Durtal. We know Durtal - it has narrow cobbled streets. So we knew that we should separate as soon as we ...

It also had magnificent gardens which Max admired with envy! Apparently they have 13 full time gardeners plus apprencitices! Our day concluded with wine tasting where we learnt to distinguish the taste between grapes grown in sandy soil and that grown in more chalk based soil and wines ...

We had been told about this Aire when we were in Forges Les Eaux and it is truly lovely. It was only 56 miles away but we just had to see this. As we were staying off the Peages, we had looked at the roads we wanted to travel on. For once, this did not work out quite right when we got to La Fleche as we could not find our road out the other side of the town! Nothing daunted, I headed into a Tabac with map ...

... been crazy about, until again I had them in their source country. While the chocolate and salted caramel ones were good, it was the lemon that was amazing. I could have eaten six of them, but alas I only bought one :(.

Took the long way back to the hostel so we could see Paris at night. Notre Dame, The Louvre, and The Seine all lit up was a beautiful sight. Going to come back in a couple of nights to take some pictures.
