I had no idea what was about to take place but I knew there was a candle procession at 9.00pm, which the taxi driver had told me was beautiful. The crowds gathered, many carrying candles. I sat in a seat ...

... he thinks he may have broken a rib. His helmet was broken in half. However, he managed to get a new wheel off the support group ( and presumably a helmet) and continued - and was still faster than us.
I dropped Terry on this descent and was supposed to wait for him at the bottom but when I started up the Col de Tormalet which is about 14km and 12 or 1300 m of ascent, I didn’t want to slow my ...
