... or so we were overtaking all the cycles, we climbed with them to 8500 ft, then descended with them the other side, the problem is we were marginally quicker than them on the uphill but alot of them were quicker than us on some of the down hills! Of our 45 miles, we were with them for 40!! but we got there slowly!

... Jill caught up to us in the van. They'd driven up to Alpe d'Huez after loading the van before heading to Gap. We stopped and chatted for a bit and made plans to meet in Corps for lunch, where we'd stopped the previous time that we were here two years ago.
