Rain rain go away!

Woke up a few times in the night to the rain battering on the van and it continued like that until lunchtime, so had a lazy morning drinking T . At one point it stopped so we decided to go wash up and try and see if we could get on the internet. YAY it worked but only briefly,. By now the rain was lashing down again (thank goodness I had taken the brolly! As it was a long walk back to the van, the road was becoming a river and let me tell you, crocs are slippy in the wet! ... was. She ordered a salad with what seemed to be various duck parts and I could tell she was just powering through...something was not right. I asked to try a piece and I found out why...most disgusting duck ever!!! Oh well...she tried!

We headed over to the Normandy American Memorial...this was not going to be your typical tourist attraction. We learned so much and tried to imagine the setting on that beach ...

... operation. First, after I stormed out of the station, I would have a base to fall back on just in case I couldn't find the house. I chose the station first because I saw taxis there. Now you're wondering, Andrew, hadn't you learned from your previous day's lesson to just take the taxi? Non, je suis Americain! Ok so not exactly... I couldn't exactly remember the address of the house so I was definitely not going to try to pronounce it in French to a French ...

... matches and you can't tell where the sidewalk starts or ends. So it all looks like sidewalk, till a car is inching up your bum and your like-oops- this is a street not a sidewalk. Sorry.
