... have an airport with flights back to London, which is what Ive just done today. Such a tiny little airport though, it was quite funny! There are just two people on check in, there is one bar and a few vending machines and one tiny duty free stall. There is one departure lounge area and everyone just walks out the doors and on to the tarmac to get on the plane. Flew with Ryanair and, despite everyone's warnings, they were perfectly fine. ... the D-Day landings are buried. I found it more moving than I'd expected actually, as the scale and number of cemeteries like this is a bit overwhelming. It was great to see the cemetery so well maintained though, and despite the nature of the place it was encouraging to see how strongly the locals felt about maintaining these cemeteries. After a week in Angers, where we stayed taking some rest at our gran parents house, we aheaded to Les sables d"olonnes, where we are going to spend 2 weeks at the shore. Look forward to it. I have been there 2 years ago. Great place to built sand castle, my cousins are coming to visit me....it is going to be a great 2 weeks.

... I performed a tidy 9 point turn in the road and set off in the other direction, despite knowing it was more prone to small town syndrome with associated 3.5 tonne vehicle paranoia.

I hate these situations in this RV as its harder and drinks loads more diesel.
We aimed for an "Aire" on the beach but after finding four of the nine spaces occupied by cars, we aborted and drove on to Fouras.
This was a further 9km and had 20 full spaces ...

... hostel using one of three computers. Later we plan to go for a walk along the beach and have dinner at the hostel again. First impressions of La Rochelle is that it is a lovely place full of charming old windey streets, markets with an abundant supply of fresh seafood and boats just about everywhere you look.
