Wat een heerlijke week!!

Hij begon wat gehaast en het bezoek aan de SEATdealer (knipperend dashboardlampje); was ook niet echt bepaald gepland..
Onderweg veel werkzaamheden op de duitsesnelweg wat tot de nodige vertraging zorgde maar .. waardoor we ook van mooie herfstkleuren hebben kunnen genieten.
Na 12uur rijden kwamen we in het donker aan in het wel vertrouwde huisje Wengi.

... spent some time on the internet. Ahhh clean clothes!! I LOVE IT! For dinner we had made enough stirfry last night to eat again...and luckily we had picked up some containers along the way so all we had to do was make some more rice and we were set! I LOVE easy dinners!!

Our last day in Interlaken we spent some time shopping before getting on the train to go to Lucern...and that was pretty much that for Interlaken. Its off to Lucern!!

... next day we went for a long beautiful, relaxin walk through Interlaken and along the river, we then to the local bus to the lake. We spent the afternoon at the lake, walkin, sittin, relaxin, it was the most peaceful place and time durin my whole trip... I love the mountains and the lake, I miss the safety I feel in nature. I didn't even have that feelin in Africa (probably because an elephant, snake, lion, etc.. could attack, hurt or eat me ...

It is definitely one of those places where if you were able to located some brocade curtains and stich yourself a pinafore, you could twirl around, channel Maria von Trapp, and belt our a rousing rendition of ...

... and another day of biking around the entire city, we set off at midnight to drive on the Autobahn to Bern. So instead of spending the night on a sleeping train, we took turns driving and sleeping (thank you Alex for the wonderful neck pillow!).



We drove into Interlaken around 9, into GORGEOUS views of mountains and lakes (thanks Jess!!). Because we were pooped from almost no sleep, we spent most of the day sleeping ...

I had previously had to walk halfway accross the town to find a cafe that would print my train ticket for the next day, and had picked up a bottle of wine. We ate, and being told by two Aussie girls that it ...

... once. Now that we had food poisoning, we decided that a pretty good place to die would be in the Ice Palace. This is essentially a cavern that is completely covered in ice. Floor to ceiling, we would be slipping around like penguins. I would need to be lifted down the stairs with a stair climber. No worries because a nice dude would help us accomplish this task. He noticed it was my birthday. I'm not sure what cued him into that conclusion, maybe it was the flashing ...

Rob bought cargo pants!!! doesn't sound like a big deal but ever since he decided he wanted some we have looked everywhere, like moving house and all you can do is admire boxes, we looked in the windows and beyond of every clothes store we saw. When we arrived at our hostel, Balmers herberge, I went straight to bed and slept til 9. My friends had actually taken another bus which had gotten lost and got to the hostel as I was waking up.
