    ... at first anticipated.
Yesterday we walked around the Swiss capital, Bern, a walkable city, where shops were located in beautiful, green sandstone buildings, and we drove to the Bern suburbs to the ultra-modern museum housing many of Paul Klee's paintings. Having seen how Kandinsky's style changed as he grew older, it was equally instructive to see the early works of Klee, as in the 1890's painting, and how his style became more ...

After all the dire weather forecasts we had been seeing (e.g. rain and maximums in single digits!), we couldn't believe our luck when we awoke to sunshine and clear skies!

So after a quick breakfast, we headed out along the valley for one of the world's most beautiful day walks. The path takes you 9 kms from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg village and along the way past 72 waterfalls, most of which are not wide but do drop hundreds of ...

The train to Switzerland was really boring. We had a bit of scenery but apart from that it was boring. We had two trains to get there. When we got to the first stop we switched to another train that would take us to a place called Spiez. We played cards there and I won three times in a row and my dad and brother ended up making an alliance against me. When we finally arrived in Spiez we got a small train to where we were staying called Interlaken West. When ...

... and then spent the evening wandering around some of the boutique shops (which were open randomly quite late).

The next morning we had one last look around Lucerne before getting back on the train in the direction of Interlaken. It was on this train to Interlaken that the Swiss scenery really started to become ever so beautiful.

You may say that spending a large portion of your day on a train is very boring, but it was pretty cold outside and the train heating ...
