... family run hotel, where we'd had a coffee on our first day. Our intention was to have a few drinks, and a rustic meal, before catching the last train back (bear in mind the last train leaves Le Buet at 8.40!).
The signpost on the nearby path indicated it was a 45 minute walk to the next station, and we had left ourselves just less than 40 minutes, if we were to get the train.....and the path was mostly covered in snow, and mostly VERY uphill. Anyway, ...

Unfortunately it is a 40 minute walk to and from it, and I don't make up my mind in time to go with my new English friend (I thought a small branch would spring up 5 min walk from hostel at the bars there, but when I walk over it's still just bars and they don't have the vibe I'm after). Instead it'll be a night of rest to top off a day of relaxing, before an early (very) start for Switzerland ...
