      ... inside wasn't too special and there was no place to look out over the city. If you ever go, I recommend skipping the basilica, and the hike up there!

      Definitely a beautiful day trip but there isn't a whole lot to do when the carnival isn't in full swing. I would love to go back in the warmer months to see the caves around the back of the mountains, they sound absolutely wonderful!

Not only was the Chateau closed for security reasons, but the large museum was closed for renovations, and the famous elephant statue was being renovated as well and the elephants didn't exist.       I spent the first two days of the new year with sister Helen sharing some very enjoyable skiing . The weather was again superb, full sunshine and clear skies.       ... snow fall for the first time in our lives. It was absolutely amazing and being able to play in it made me feel completely nostalgic for childhood, but in a good way.
