    Race Day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 10, 2015

... After a celebratory drink we made our way back to the bus stop and managed to buy some tickets this time. The younger generation slept the whole journey , anyone would have thought they had done a triathlon. We stocked up at the supermarket with BBQ food and more beer, before returning back to base camp. As usual Duncan was in charge of an excellent BBQ and I wrongly thought we had bought too much food and drink. Evening games ended a very successful day ...

... stocked. We returned to Geneva in the afternoon by which time the roads had been shut so an enormous traffic jam made it slow progress but eventually we parked the car and Graham racked his bike and went for a practice swim. The enormous GB team gathered for the parade and we managed to meet up with Simon and Elly having successfully completed their 12 day cycle down the Rhine to Basel and getting the train to Geneva. ...

We then decided to try the pool out but a water aerobics class was going on so we had to do widths and then we found out it wasn't really open ...

The campsite is lovely with first class facilities and with our fridge was delivered to our tent. What luxury until we realised we hadn't got the right adaptor, so a trip to the supermarket was required. The village is a typical small French village and I wasn't expecting much of a supermarket, but "past the church and walk ...

... I was looking forward to after my pal in Lyon told me about it last night. Unfortunately it is a 40 minute walk to and from it, and I don't make up my mind in time to go with my new English friend (I thought a small branch would spring up 5 min walk from hostel at the bars there, but when I walk over it's still just bars and they don't have the vibe I'm after). Instead it'll be a night of rest to top off a day of relaxing, before an early (very) start for Switzerland ...
