      ... wandering round the town - something never done before. It's a small provincial centre with adequate shops for the needs of the locals and one or two upmarket shops for the sailors who stopover in the marina.
      The seafront was amazing - the height of the waves frightening, but the seagulls were having a wonderful time surfing the wind.

      ... have been that it was a larger town. The information I'd been given about his headstone was accurate, and we located his burial site easily. This cemetery had been the community cemetery well before the war, with family tombs covered in names and memorials. In a separate section, crosses marked the graves of French soldiers and the occasional German one.

      ... What a delight this is. After dinner we walked round the site for a while then bed by 9.40! Unbelievable! No telly is quite good really.

      Rained all night, so packed the tent up wet. The across to St Sever Cemetery which is quite large and WOODLAND not in any of the book lists so found him by looking at date of death and also a special section for officers ???
