Great location in the heart of Petite France on the Grand Rue. Short walk to the canals, Cathedral, etc. We arrived two hours before check-in but the staff said they'd have our room ready in ten minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our third floor room decor was a strange mix of modern and post French Revolution. Good internet reception in room. No curtains only a thin pull-down shade. When the sun comes up at 6 AM, it's bright! Our room faced the street and a local street crowd on the corner howled at the moon until about 10 PM.

Strasbourg, France may be our favorite city we have visited so far but it was certainly a quest to get here.

Between 8:00 AM and noon we utilized virtually every public mode of transportation available.to get from Heidelberg to Strasbourg.

During that period we took two busses, two commuter trains plus a high speed bullet train …

After a few cups of coffee we rode through beautiful Luxembourg countryside, in a south eastly direction, until we reached the town of Remich which is on the Moselle River. A short ride across the bridge located there saw us in our 4th country in 3 days, Germany.

We then rode through hills and forest on very good roads until we reached the town on Mettlach, located on the Saar River, ...

From that ride we followed Michael, Kara, Vasilisa, Chelsy, Kelly and Jessica to the huge wooden coaster, Wodan! Everyone went on this one and the ride went 100km/h (62m/h) 40 m up. The first hill was soo much fun and the drop was even better! I think this one is my new favorite wooden roller coaster! Afterwards, we made our way to Blue Fire, the blue coaster that went upside down! At that ...

... Globe n Co showed us where the club was that they wanted to go to later and then afterwards I went with the girls and Memo to find a place to eat because everyone else was going to the bar, but we were hungry. We found this place that sold cheap burgers and we ate there. It was funny because we knew the guy at the restaurant spoke English, but we tried communicating in French/Spanish until we finally found ...

... we find an intact castle so we headed for the hills. Our navigation skills weren’t that good so we managed to do a mountain hike in search of the castle, only to find it was down the hill on the edge of the nearby suburb. We couldn’t go into the castle itself but we explored the grounds which were surrounded by acres of vineyards.

We stopped for the night at the stellplatz at Kehl - where we spent our first night after picking up the ...
