... even though this seems too good to be true)
From the electric company (STAWAG) I got out my handy dandy map and notebook with addresses to the mattress companies (aunt lena, I use that little red notebook every day). I got on the bus a rode to the mattress company, it was right on a corner, couldn't miss it. I went in and the sales dude showed me a couple different mattresses, all around 100 euro. I saw on the webiste that I could ...
... so it won't cost so much to get there. I am focusing on having enough money for food, electricity, rent, and a mattress, and Oktoberfest isn't really high up on the list of priorities right now. I will be so excited and relieved when I get everything settled and can really focus on integrating myself and learning German!!
Also I am concerned with the safety at the Oktoberfest.. with hundreds of thousands of people grouped in a ...

WHEW!! all of this stuff has to get done sometime, I guess. I am just glad things are finally starting to come together, or at least they will have a little more by tomorrow night.
Going to bed for now!
After popping into and out of Germany, we were now back in Belgium. It was beginning to get a bit dark, and we still had at least 200 miles left to drive.
Gaz's motor was struggling, and threatening to overheat, so we stopped to let it cool down.
With the vehicles all decorated with stickers, we attracted a bit of attention, and a Belgian couple took our ...

We stopped at one point, because the roadbook wasn't very clear, at which point Gaz and Charlotte came up behind us. They had been left behind by the V8s, as they were in a Series vehicle, so we said we'd stick with them.
At this point, Kieran noticed a strange noise from our engine, which was duly investigated by James. It was diagnosed as the fan belt tensioning pulley. But we didn't do anything about it at the time.
... Markus are going to a friend's house for dinner, so I am going to through a raging party here. HAHA. Not really, who would I even invite? Guess I could go get some people off the street and bring them up, doesn't that sound like fun? :/
Actually tonight at St. Elisabeth there is an organ/sax concert that I read about in the paper, and I was planning on going to that. Sounds like it could be interesting. I ...
... cities in Holland for the entire month of October. This ticket to buy would probably cost at least 40 Euro, if not more. Pretty nice coupon!
I then went to another office near the main train station to register myself as a foreigner in the country, the second part of the process. Really I couldn’t register on the same day, I just had to make an appointment and it is for 9AM next Friday. I have to bring proof of ...
We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!
... following a cycle route which, in daylight, leads through open countryside, farmland, quaint little hamlets and traffic-free footpaths. At night it was a treacherous, pot-holed, unpredictable death-trap and at irregular intervals the devilish, iridescent gaze of satanīs bovine sentinals would flash from the dark and a flap of bats rush past my face. When, after about an hour, I saw a small local pub with itīs front door open and heard chatter and laughter from ...
Aachen, Germany dynamo... before the on-ramps, and motion to drivers stopped at red lights. Also, there are parking spots (like rest areas in the U.S.) and gas stations immediately adjacent to the highways, and these are quick spots to catch lifts. If you engage a driver going your way in Europe, he or she will often take you. I've had to overcome some tough challenges hitchhiking this crowded European mess. In Brenem, Germany, a guy named Klaus clogged an on-ramp and infuriated some ...
