    ... at Fouras. Again it's slightly different to last time as we arrived at 8pm in the dark and pouring rain. The good news is we have all used our overshoes now, so they were worth bringing them. It would have been somewhat later but we caught the last river crossing on the Transbordeur, a magnificent hanging platform which is pulled across on cables between1 two enormous Towers. Anyway we did catch it and are safely camped up at Fouras. Have a look at our dining room! More news to ...

    Only our second morning with dry tents so an easy start around the beach at Fouras. After a stop for deux bagettes we were on our way to Rochefort for coffee at a bar overlooking the harbour full of expensive looking yachts.     Another day along the coast. The route took us away from the sea although we did find a great view across to Ile D'Oleron from near La Tranche sur Mer. A particular feature of the coast is the marshes (Marais with various water beds for oysters, nets for shrimps and shortly eels at Marans.
