    ... last time we were here. Nice lunch in a little town and the went back to look at Linda's Gits. Will,catch up with them again when we get back at the end of the month. Friday 6 November and we are spending it it in Jarnac getting ourselves organised for our travels to Villers Bretonneux and Normandy.     ... the little lanes filled with local and touristy shops, however as usual, they're ready to close at midday for a couple of hours. Didn't matter, we wandered through to the bay front and walked the promenade. Stayed here a couple of nights before heading for Bordeaux, a beautiful French city with plenty of the old city charm.     ... And off we went. The good old SatNav got us onto the road to Segovia, a town we'd not taken an optional tour to. About an hour out of Madrid, we arrived in Segovia around noon. Well at the foot of the old fortified city that is, which is built up on a bit of a rise and has a lovely old, what looks like a Roman viaduct, connecting the hilltop town to another rise.     ... Sainte-Martin-de-Ré in the port but it was idyllic! We walked along the big stone wall that separated us from the sea and looked out at the fantastic view having the chance to take many photos!

    Next it was time for another museum about boats and the marine history of Île de Ré, which was pretty cool and had lots of paintings, sculptures, a private garden and puzzles, the latter of which Bridget and I took to straight away.
