... to my 2nd class mostly thanks to M. le proviseur. and its a lycee professionel class. these are the classes where they place kids who are not going to college, those destined to be in the work force....

so i try to play 2 truths and a lie, which is a bit too complicated for them, and instead just do introductions. they weren't super talkative so i asked them what their favorite things to do are.....

Language is more interesting in france. If we try to do the simple tourist things then most people can work out what is going on but when we try something else eg. going to the doctor (sue has been sick) going to a chemist.. or finding a Laundamatt.. then the language thiig is a bit more animated....

so 2 weeks into france and i've yet to write a thing. im so bad at this game. meh.
today i went to the beach, it was wonderful!!!! becca thought it was cold, she was wrong :)

so apparently sainte maxime is infiltrated by german tourists, who knew? the only frenchies on the beach were...well enjoying themselves quite a bit..... ;-)

12hrs after i checked out of my Barcelona hotel, i am in Monte Carlo!!!!! Luckily got the last bus from the Nice airport to Monaco. Amazing bus trip here. I think i was wide-eyed and jaw dropped for much of it. Although it is night, you can see some amazing views, yachts and cross some bridges with HUGE drop-offs down into the coastal valley. The streets truly are Grand Prix style. Can't wait to ...

... the morning shift I ran to the railway station. The return ticket to Monte Carlo was only 5 Euros, and the journey last 15-20 minutes. The views were gorgeous, but the best one was the old town of Monte Carlo and it`s cars. Jeeez! Amazing! Moreover, they would stop in order to let you pass through - before you even got to zebra. I had a very limited time, but the things I saw there made me convinced it was not my last time in Monaco.

... friend who speaks French and English! While we were walking around, we got to see an amazing view of Cannes from a castle! It was very pretty!! We bought alcohol and walked the streets drinking, a very weird concept for 4 American girls! It was a strange feeling, but a lot of fun!! ... shape. On a ship, it's smooth going in a cabin. In the car, one usually snoozes out of exhaustion. On this sleeper train I have a full length bunk with sheets, blankets and a pillow, but somehow the movement of the train won't allow me to drop off. It seems to be going awfully fast around the curves, and I have panicky thoughts about it jumping the tracks. The rest of the family and our companions seem deep in the land of nod, and I suppose I eventually arrive there too.
