Rest and Relaxation

... Back on our lounge chairs where we soak-up the Acapulco sun. A little swim to cool-off, then back in the sun. At 1:00PM, we’re fed a buffet style lunch. Then back in the sun.

3:00PM came WAY too fast. Back on the bus to head back to the pier. The drive back took almost twice as long due to the traffic, but we make it back on board in time. Down to the stateroom to get ready for dinner. This is when we ...

I love this city

... Pell City for so many months! I come all the way to Mexico, just to find one of our old airplanes on its belly on the end of the runway. The dropzone was cool and everyone was nice. We didn't hang out for long though because we wanted to go to Tepoztlan!

Tepoztlan is a cute little city. Probably my favorite place we've been to other than Coyocan and Cuautla. We walked up the streets where everyone had their merchandise out selling for the weekend.

Well, the boat trips over, we got stuck in Manzanillo for about 2 weeks and its too late in the storm season to keep sailing south. But the journey continues, Matt is putting the boat up for the winter in the town of Barra Navidad. Josh and I packed up our backpacks and boards and are continuing south by bus to Costa Rica. Already got in more surf sessions than the entire sailing trip, I wish I had more time to explore this ...

... Their website is www.adventuresidecar.co.uk. We all decided we needed a break from the high temperatures and set a course to Tixla, where there are promised waterfalls and good swimming holes in cooler, higher elevations. We made it to Chilpancingo, the capital of the state of Guerrero by nightfall and slipped into the inexpensive (300 peso) Hotel Muniz for the night.

Stop over

There are two ways to travel in Mexico. Or you can take a direct and expensive bus or for the same journey, take about 4 or 5 buses, spend twice the time but save half of the money. You will hve guessed, we chose the second option. So we travelled all day and stopped over in the middle of nowhere really, so we could carry on the next day and reach Acapulco.

... below on each side. It also had a couple of nice cabanas for rent with private kitchenettes and bathrooms. They also used another cabana as a camper's kitchen (so you wouldn't have to stink up your coach with the smell of lobster, or for those that have small rigs and perhaps no kitchens, etc.) The bathroom in that cabana was also for anybody's use and although the shower water could be sort of warm in the ...

Hola, como estas?

... except beach bumming because the waves were super strong and would have washed me and my camera away!! (monica knows I am not allowed near water with my camera for that reason) The cliff diving was pretty cool (there were 5 of these guys), and they spent a great deal of time praying before diving, which made me wonder if it was just for show to ...

... and there was a loud group of aging California surfer dudes next door all with donkey laughs (apparently they had consumed enough beer to think that just about everything was funny). The attached Old Pier Restaurant was devoid of patrons and had the look of a place that hasn't been popular since the 1960s so I had a snack and turned in early.

Taxco

Taxco is the silver capital of mexico... I think it may have been gems idea to go there... we went to many shops, and were witness to one of the craziest religious ceremonies I have ever seen... not that I have seen that many. not judging the ceremonies, mind you, but I don't think that it was really our cup of tea.
