... A few photos later I was heading back and thought maybe I could eat a little dessert, I was just in luck as one of the waffle stands was still open although it was after 9 and everything was closing, "I'm sorry I only speak English." My opening gambit with all Dutch storekeepers.
"No problem I speak English for you!" Came the enthusiastic reply.
"Thanks, uh the Cherry one looks good."
"Yes, is very nice, first I warm it for you and ...
Woke up to the sound of my room mate goin out to work, lazed another half hour and started to get stuff together. Hostels are great, but all your stuff is stored so far away from the bike and has to be rearranged for carrying/riding. The first sweat I break each day is generally before I have turned a pedal. (REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH IS TECHNICAL BIKE BLAH!) Today I was also trying a new technique: by discarding a couple of items of clothing and putting more up front I ...
Maastricht, Limburg, Netherlands asphalt_pilgrim... a tourist. Berlin almost had that vibe, but just missed out, but I must say that Copenhagen definitely made me feel that way in just 2.5 hours. Ella, I am quite jealous of the time you will get to spend there as a student!
I left Copenhagen in the mid-afternoon for Malaga, on the Costa del Sol in the south of Spain, to visit friends of my grandmother's there. Upon arrival, I was highjacked by a man speaking in Dutch, asking if I spoke English and Spanish. He was quite relieved ...
... alley where Hugo won handily.
The next day the kids had to go back to school, so we decided to head into Maastricht and have a look around. I'll let Whitney tell you about Maastricht and get to the important stuff -dinner! Trees cooked us Bami for dinner, which is a delicious noodle meal that went prettyquickly.
The following day is was time to say goodbye, so we bid farewell to the kidlets before school and got dropped off at the station with our bellies ...
During our stay in Spa we had the most scary, horrible, unpleasant experience ever in a restaurant.
The restaurant to avoid is "Le Bouchon Gourmand", the owner does not hesitate to insult customers, lock them into the restaurant if there is a dispute on the bill, and claim more money than is due.

... They told us we were at the highest point in Belgium, which was somewhere in the Nature Park.
We decided to call it a day for the roadbook, and make a detour to just get into Luxembourg for fuel, and to make sure we 'did' all the countries.
Looking back that detour cost us some time, but did mean we visited Luxembourg, even if it was too dark to see it.
... of Eupen which was the Jacques Chocolate Factory. We got a tour of the factory which was really neat. They gave us a few delicious samples and afterwards we shopped in their store. Everyone loaded up with chocolate and some people even bought the chocolate beer that they sell there (it turned out to be DISGUSTING). At night, we attended a little ceremony done by the Ministers of the German ...
Eupen, Belgium jnl5002... head still attached...it was quite an experience. They provided bottles and bottles of wine and beer so good times were had by all. Everyone was a little hungover for class this morning. I would really like to hear from everyone...you can post replies on my travelogue or just email me at joshlynheimes@hotmail.com!!! Take care and I will write more when Im not so foggy! Love, Joshlyn
Maastricht, Netherlands joshlyn... Belgium’s two greatest commodities. After we picked our lunch items from the one-third of the supermarket aisles dedicated to groceries, Amber got side-tracked admiring the second third of the aisles, all dedicated to chocolate, while I went AWOL in the last third of the supermarket, eyeing off all the shelves stocked with beer.
We cycled back the way we came to return once again to The Netherlands ...
