... Lemptegy, which has been quarried for the lava which is used for all sorts of things, including making cat litter! We went on a tour of the crater in a small train with a manic young guide gabbling volubly in French. At the end of the tour there was a very entertaining theme-park type experience called The Exploding Mine, which was not ...
Royat, Auvergne, France oldagetraveller... the end I could have kept on going. The scenery was amazing and the people canadians ans Austrians were a lot of fun. We are now on the road in the south of france heading for Spain in a brand new Peugot 206. Whether we get there is another question as there are so many beautiful places along the way. The weather has turned lousy with it raining all day today and really cold. Tomorrow we will head off again and see where the road takes us. Take care Carol
Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne, France caroladele... water. Nothing happens, as I expected, until I put in the token. The shower head immediately leaps to attention, and I am blasted in the face by the kind of water cannon usually reserved for major riots. I scrape myself off the far wall and grope blindly for the shower head. I wrestle the brute off its mounting and aim it at the drain. Heart pounding, I stand wondering how to free a hand to open the shower gel. Eventually ...
Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne, France born2bongo... Sarkozy), health concerns and a host of other things. It was very enjoyable and lasted through the middle of the afternoon. Taking my leave, I drove off to find a hotel for the night, and worked for a few hours while waiting for my second visit in Vichy. Hervé Dubois came by the hotel at 7:00 pm and we drove to a restaurant a ways down the road. It's a western themed restaurant called Buffalo Grill. The greeter was dressed in a long Doc Holliday ...
Vichy, Auvergne, France joelmeekerOn Le Weekend we met a group of the French kids and clearly they fell in love with us. So shortly after that weekend they wanted to party with us again as soon as they could. And did we ever. Quentin had a number of us over to get to know us a little better. A couple 40s later we were much better acquainted. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.
Vichy, France beccx... We shared the best appetizer ever, tomato and mozzarella salad. Some of the French guys got some traditional french dishes that we got to try. Steak tar tar, which is raw hamburger with a raw egg on top was the most adventurous thing I have ever tried in my life. I tried a really small bite and I think I threw up a little in my mouth but, I am glad that I got to try it. It was such a great weekend, everything was so random, but alotta fun. I just wish that we were more prepared.
Clermont Ferrand, France beccx... Very cute, very clean. That night I met up with some people from my class, very randomly and we went to the Horse Races at the Hippdrome. It was pretty neat, and everyone was pretty cool. They had a heard of begals come out too, with guys on horses dressed in traditional English hunting outfits too. It really made me miss Kosmo. That night we headed to Le Gloulais. That's our pub. They love us there.
Vichy, Auvergne, France pilleWe went on a walk to "The top of the world". The highest hill nearby. It was bit of a trek which we werent expecting but was loads of fun as one of the other groups joint us. There was about 100 of us stretched out along these country roads. We were given ...
