Whilst friends enjoy the first day opening of some resorts in the Alps and Americans struggle to get out of their homes, I am walking each day in shirt-sleeves and temperatures of 21 degrees. We did have some snow at the beginning of last week and the resort began to take on the feel of a new season, however it all changed by midweek and the forecast is for rain next week. Cherry and I walked the mountain to see the Stations of the Cross and drank the Holy Water from the Grotto. There were lots of people waiting to go into the baths but you weren't allowed to watch. We purchased little bottles to take some Holy Water home but you could buy 5 ...

... in Nevers, France. After the tour of the Sanctuary, we went in search of a Cafe Dan recommended, but could never find it -- clouds were coming in and interfered with our GPS reception. We were tired of walking in circles, so we stopped for a simple sandwich -- and just in time because we sat under a shade just as torrential rains began, again! We braved the rain on our walk back to the room, then tried to dry off and warm up in our room. ...
