    It was a long walk into town and we were very surprised afterwards to see how far we had come! You don't tend to notice as much when you are chatting away. We all agreed a taxi back was the better option. We're looking forward to exploring Barcelona tomorrow.

    After a lazy first full day, our priority on Thursday was leaving the site to get fuel as we were down to a 40-mile reserve, so the satnav duly programmed took us out of Alcossebre to the nearest filling station. Diesel was €1.19 a litre (about 94p) so very good for the budget. Next stop, the ferreteria (hardware shop) where David bought a brush for washing the car and caravan, followed by supermarket shopping. Since our last visit a large Consum store has been built ...

    ... availability so as planned on the way down we took a decision to look to see if the pitch we occupied last time was vacant. It was but since the one directly opposite was slightly flatter we went for that. It proved a good choice as from the kitchen window I can see the sea beyond the hedges and villa roofs.     Arrived in town at 16:00 when siesta is in full swing so quiet as a mouse. Did a stroll to find out the ATM etc. I'm always fascinated with Mediterranean towns and villages that even with hundreds of acres available they are packed into a tiny space on the hill......surrounding the church.
