Our vacation starts

... for us. Not only did we have to prove that we have a return ticket, but all information that was keyed in to the system was repeated again. This led to a long delay at boarding time. We took off an hour later. Out 10 hour flight to Miami was uneventful. Airplane food as always blah, in flight entertainment had everyone of us watching what they wanted (finally, finally watched P.S I love you, and oh the Irish scenery......) Getting a cooker

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Jul 14, 2015

Yes! As you can probably guess from the title of today's article, I've got myself a gas cooker. But, there's a story to it. I wake up to the sound of rain poring down on my tent. Ugh, not today. I'm only an hour out from Buxtehude, and I really want to visit this city today. At 11am it stops raining and I pack up my tent. I'm in the centre at about 1pm. Again, it's a nice little city. ... in an walk a couple of kilometres to stretch my legs. I walk South towards Harsefeld. I put up camp just outside of Stade by the railway crossing on the L124. I'm not really happy that I changed location. I didn't get very far before the rain started again and last nights spot was a lot ...

City boy

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Jul 11, 2015

... plan on visiting Buxtehude next, it's another small city close to Hamburg. I head South-East towards the B73. I was planning on hitch hiking to Buxtehude using the drive lane to the B73 as hitch point, but as I arrive there, there's absolutely no way for cars to stop. There's also no foot/cycle path parallel to the B73. I've have to make other plans for my travel to Buxtehude. There's another problem. As I start planning my route, dark clouds gather and ...
