... Caterina Sforza wanted a residential palace named Paradise to be built on the 14th century fortress remains. The palace does not exist anymore. Recently the fortress underwent restoration and the roofs of two towers and the conjon were rebuilt. On the south side of the fortress you can still see the coat of arms of Cesare Borgia who stormed the fortress defended by Caterina on January 12, 1500."

Venice is located in a lagoon and the locals moved further into the lagoon to escape Attila the Hun.
