... ciao" to this kid and that was the extent of our knowledge of one another, but I was too tired to care, and I've come to expect random things here. Plus, it was butt-suckin cold there, so all I wanted was to huddle under my blankets and sleep.
Usually on Sundays the family goes to church then heads over to the grandparents apartment in Borgo for lunch, where all the aunts, uncles and cousins come too. But the dad, Caesar (pronounced Chezz-ah-ray)(how ...
I am only stayin the night just to see the Matterhorn. The sun is out and I took a hike up nearby hill. It was about an hour and a half uphill walk with regular short stops to catch my breath. I think I have had enough of hiking now, I did 4 hours of it at Montreux as well, I must have the best **** at the moment. Spectacular view of the mountain at the hilltop though. It's less of a mountain and more of a giant pinnacle of rock. It looks menacing, to prove it there is a nearby graveyard full ...
... br>We had decided to travel via Aosta, so as to get as close to the roadbook outlined route as possible. About midday, we got our first views of Mont Blanc, or Monte Bianco, as the Italians know it. As we turned off the motorway, we could still see it, until the narrow winding roads took us across the other side of another mountain.
Now we realised this was our last chance to get the police photo, as soon we
wouldn't be in Italy any ...
... to them. The father and daughter had just completed a 200km trek through the mountains so our little effort that day seemed very insignificant!
We sat and watched the sun go down and the lights of the town come on as it got darker and colder. The town and the Matterhorn looked beautiful as the sun set and the moon came up. We really didn't want to go inside, but when it did get too cold we eventually climbed down to bed, and every muscle in our bodies said ‘thank you!’
... took Evie back up via the Tram to the top of the Klein Matterhorn just before the last ride at 4:30p. Along the way, they watched a parade of swiss dancers with typical accordian players as they paraded down main street as part of an annual traditional festival.
Day 1 Thankfully we were blessed with sunny weather for our train ride to Zermatt. The entire ride lasted about five and a half hours, a good reason why it is known as the slowest express train in the world. We passed through a few small towns before beginning our ascent over the Alps. After passing through some very scenic areas we started to encounter the snow which eventually turned into a complete ...
Zermatt, Switzerland worldtraveller9... pudding they say is in the eating, in this case the proof is in the photographs that I have posted. I spent the time enjoying the passing beauty while listening to my personal soundtrack and I could only think that I was extremely privileged to be viewing this landscape. At this point, I could only say: Thank you, Vinnie ;) After my beautiful trip, I finally arrived in Zermatt and well - the town is simply glorious. There are no cars. The air is ...
Zermatt, Swiss Alps, Switzerland kamyp... did not want to see but now I have. More than once. I met up with Mitch at the central train station in Zurich and we caught a train for Zermatt, which was another 5 hours of travelling. By the time I went to bed, I had been awake for over 2 days. No wonder I slept for 12 hours. Anyway, we're off for our first day of skiing and I just wanted to report that yes, I ...
