      ... lake. 70€ for single use of double room. Property run by Marco, nice young guy who spent a year in Oz, and his girlfriend who didn't speak English but was friendly enough. Property is owned by a local lady, and operated by his dad. Went for walk around village and to lake in arvo - strong winds and rain set in but looks like a good place to come back to. Cab fare from Como is 20€ but bus and ferry also available. Too wet to go out for dinner so ate at in ...

      After a couple of cups of coffee we set off for Parma and arrived at our hotel for the night.

      The hotel was located on the north side of the city and the room was probably the best that we had been accommodated in so far.

      We dumped our bags and got a taxi into the city ...

      ... get us to Parma......I then work out that the train to Recci is boarding so I need to find Rhid.....sure enough he's in the Information booth talking to a confused looking assistant. I tell Rhid we need to go....and I'm wondering why the assistant was looking confused. Rhid was one step ahead of me.....sure we get the train to Recci and get off at Parma but which train do we need to get on to get to Aulla........."Ah.." says I.... nope hadn't thought of that.

      ... look like they most likely grew up here in Italy and seem very much at ease. But I notice a passerby looking at them and then talking angrily on his phone. A few minutes later the police show up.

      The police talk (politely it seems) to the guys, telling them they're not supposed to play volleyball in the park. Somehow I suspect that it wasn't the volleyball that got the caller angry, though...
