Solo doesn't do bar culture. Solo doesn't do shopping. Solo doesn't do underground hipster music scene. But what Solo does well is street food. Here are my favourites:

Nasi Liwet is coconut rice, egg and some kind of boiled sweet vegetable I can't identify (with chicken if you eat that kind of thing) which you can buy from the side of the road at night. Not only is it cheap and delicious, but it's the perfect level ...

... take a taxi. She had just heard this morning that there have been riots and some violence between Solo and Yogyakarta because of football (soccer) matches and there is a huge rivalry apparently. Well, today was the day! We got up at 3am because we were being picked up at 4am by the driver to take us to BuNeti's home (our dance instructor). We got to BuNeti's around 415 and started the hair and makeup process right away! They CAKE that stuff on! I was the first to get my makeup ...

I saw one 22 year old patient with a spinal tumour who had the most spasticity and clonus of anyone I have ever seen. I could barely extend his knee or dorsiflex his ankle. I also MMT tested a lady with paraplegia who was 0 for every LE muscle. A month ago she was scoring 1-3. For fractures it is common to put ...

... The waterfall was just OK, it was very touristy and much less impressive than some of the waterfalls I have seen around BC and Alberta! Ah well, it was something to do/see! We made it home and Vien's aunt came over to measure us up for our Batik clothing!! She is a seamstress who is willing to take time off from her work to make our clothes/scarves for us...pretty sure we must be giving her decent business if she is willing to do that! Pretty cool, but definitely tiring weekend ...
