... open spaces and the large omnipresent mansion.
The day would soon come to a close. Our early flight the following day meant our options were limited for nighttime amusement as we wanted to start the day fresh. Frog Legs was on the menu for dinner as was Duck Confit. The duck was pleasantly tasteful however the legs was on the bland side. After dinner we retired to our tiny Parisian hotel in the 3rd Arr, all packed and ready to face the day to come.
... after paying attention to important information dozed off and only woke up when we were in the beautiful countryside with lots of villages and sheep. The sunrise was only at 8am but was spectacular through the clouds and barren trees. We saw our first fortress as we entered Dover where we were to catch the ferry. Dover is also famous for the White Cliffs which are made from chalk. Very stunning and even more so from the water. The ferry was rather flash compared to NZ it more ...
... because it's what my mom didn't want but there was nothing else. At that point we just went for anything. And I was happy with our choice because it turned out tone really good. By the time we finished dinner it was already 22:00 (10pm) and we didn't want to deal with switching to another metro station and having to walk to the Eiffel Tower at night so we decided to call it a night and go see it tomorrow. So we just went to the hotel and are relaxing for bed. Je t'aime ...
The city of Paris is by far the most breath-taking and simply beautiful city I've seen yet. Verona was very charming and enchanting with its intimate courtyards and flowered alley ways but that cannot stand against Paris and its grandeur and elegance. Prague was also high up in the run with its castles and grand boulevards but still Paris shines brighter. It is the city of light, and I understand it now. It doesn't matter if it's 8 in the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Dacia Luxembourg Paris
Great Location, Good Value
I stayed at the Dacia Luxembourg for two nights in early December on a writing/research trip. I found the accommodation to be perfectly adequate, quiet for such a busy area and clean. The buffet breakfast was an excellent start to the day, with friendly service. If I were staying in Paris for a week or longer, I might try to find something with a little more character and personal attention, but this hotel certainly meets an acceptable standard. Great for travel to and from CDG airport too, since the St. Michel/Notre Dame station is just a short walk away.
Nice hotel, lovely district
My recent stay at the Hotel Dacia was a great experience. The hotel is ideally situated just minutes away from the metro station, (especially at the arrival, coming from the airport). The hotel staffs were very helpful and the rooms are quite charming. I strongly
recommend the Hotel Dacia!
Disappointed with the dacia hotel
we only stayed at this hotel as we could only get booked into our usual hotel for the first and last day of our trip, there were two young receptionists one male and one female who were really miserable, i was so looking forward to getting out of the place and and returning to our usual hotel where the receptionists are lovely.cleaners excellent and v.friendly.
the room was quite cold we were there from 19th oct 05 .also the room was on a busy main road which was very noisey. i will certainly be booking into my favourite hotel in plenty of time to clinch my reservation in future !
Terrible. We had booked 5 nights in this "so called" hotel, but we fled after a single night. The internet presentation, phiotos and so on, are just the opposite of reality. The rooms are tiny, the beds are tiny, the bathrooms are tiny, the elevator is tiny, the lobby is tiny - well, it seems designed by a crew of gnomes. I had no bedside table, since there was no room for it, and the bed was for a Barbie House. Thr window faced a grey stone wall. Definitely, there'a a lot more of possibilities in Paris, STAY AWAY from this one!
Be very careful when booking through the "hotels- exclusive" web site, i inadvertendly booked via the french website. Booked giving full credit card details, with no mention of cancellation fees being apparent. Later the same day of booking, I cancelled (thinking hotel was abit expensive) reinstated the booking the next day, direct with hotel when they advised me there would be a small booking fee of 3/4 euros. (couldnt be bothered with hastle in the end) so reinstated booking. Without my knowledge or authorisation £60 was taken out of my account !! this was on the 4/5/05 and still to this day they still havent given me a refund !( 10/6/05) upon assurances it is being done ! That aside, the hotel is in a wonderfully central position. 10 min walk to Notre dame, Seine, and in the latin quarter distict which is very vibrant and busy in the evenings especially ( wonderful restaurants/bars) Hotel staff very friendly and spoke very good english. Hotel room ( one with four poster bed- in back of hotel, quiet room) very cramped, but did have mini bar, air conditioning and seperate bathroom to toilet. Ideal ! Clean and tidy, serviced daily. Didnt have breakfast there as we chose to eat out as opposed to in the cellar (no light but comfortable).
We stayed here for 4 nights from the 10th november 2004 and had a lovely stay. Arrived in Paris at the excelsior hotel in rue cujas and had to leave the hotel as it was appalling! We walked around the corner and found the Hotel Dacia.
Fortunately for us they were doing a special deal of only 90 euros per night for the room including breakfast which was the same price as the Hotel Excelsior. The room was lovely with tea making facilities and the bathroom was absolutely spotless. Breakfast was also very good in the basement with arched vaulted ceilings which is so typical of Paris. Standard french breakfast with very friendly staff. We can wholeheartily recommend this Hotel.
The Hotel reception staff also spoke english which was very helpfull.
Dacia Luxembourg - VERY disappointing
My husband and I just stayed at the Hotel Dacia Luxembourg and were very disappointed. For the prices charged, there is little value; room and bathroom were tiny and felt claustrophobic, the 'double' bed was closer in size to a single. Corridors were so narrow its hard to imagine they don't present a fire risk. Hotel lobby and corridors smelt of fish during entire stay. Hotel definitely spoilt our stay in Paris.
Good value in an expensive city
A well-located hotel with knowledgable staff. Rooms small. Rooms overlooking street were quite noisy. Ours was the cheaper option, and was much quieter. Matresses rather squishy.
Clean & comfortable
I have stayed in Dacia Luxembourg on two separate occasions, in 2001 and 2003. The hotel is very central and within walking distance to all tourist areas, the closest being the Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame and Saint Germain. It is situated on a main shopping street, but with saying that the rooms are sound proof from street noises and other neighbouring rooms. The bedrooms are small but have all the necessary mod cons and also have tea-making facilities, which was great after the days sightseeing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable rate and a great holiday experience in Paris!
Good simple reasonably priced hotel
A good basic hotel, reasonably priced in a central location. Decent rooms, clean and comfortable and definitely on the "bijou" side but how much time does one spend in a hotel room in Paris?
