... village is so peaceful. Later we go down to see Gilberto's mother and brother so I can say goodbye to them. They are very lovely people and I have enjoyed spending time with them as well this visit. They have a Christmas present for me that I'm not allowed to open until Christmas so that when I do, I think of them! Off for pizza for dinner and then home to pack my ...

Another road trip today, this time to Lugano in Switzerland to visit Gilberto's aunt for lunch. Due to all the heavy rain over the previous week, there was a landslide on the road from Stresa to Lucano along Lake Maggiore so we have to take a different route over the mountains to get there. There are some wonderful views back along the valleys as we drive along. The sun is out and it is a beautiful ...

It was great to see so many wonderful places but it is good to be back in the village. This afternoon we head down to Pontegrande for the wifi so I can upload my ...

... with Rossi's number 46 everywhere! Only a short drive later we arrive at Gradara; a medieval town with buildings dating back to 1150. We walked around the walls of the town and then through castle. A lot of the shops and cafes are closed for the winter and there are not many people walking around. It's really nice being able to see these places without hoards of people around. They each have a quiet beauty about them. We continue driving up the ...

... a wonderful meal in the grand dining room at the Regina Palace Hotel. We were offered leg of lamb or salmon. I had leg of lamb & Mike had the salmon. Of course there was a pasta & soup, dessert, etc. and again unlimited vino. The tables were decorated elegantly as if for a wedding. The waiters wore black tuxedos. After dinner we were extremely exhausted and so off to sleep for us. We will visit Locarno, Switzerland tomorrow. Buono ...
