... Bologna, Grand. Big day, happy with our large room and funny window, went for walkies to navigate the town, found the main piazza where there were chairs set up and a big screen. Cool, outdoor movies. The posters said August, rats, we thought. We walked past San Pietro Duomo, or saint Peters Cathedral. It's huge, the main one for Bologna. As we walked down the side Steve thought it must have been damaged in WWII or that part of it was missing. It looked as if the brick ...
... and two groups of four behind. It has a concrete done and a central opening to the sky, and almost two thousand years after it was built, it is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. It is one of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings. ... to see the main sites in this grassy walled area was quite a sight. In the midst of a brown ditty town stand these impressive buildings, a cathedral, a baptistery, a cemetery and the leaning tower of Pisa. All together in one area with lush green grass. It was a stunning day so we wandered around enjoying the sun seeing the sites but we didn’t spend a long time there. We made our way through the tourist stalls and found some local markets selling old wares. We enjoyed ...
... everyone was drinking in the street and having a great time! We then walked to the massive wall turned left and spied the leaning tower that is Pisa! It was a grand sight and was even better at night as there weren't too many people around! We then walked back to the square and shared a large 2 Euro bottle of Peroni which people were selling in the square and we made our way back to the hostel at around 1am. Loving Pisa!
