'Leaving on a ferrryyyy, don't know when we'll be back again!'................

We were awake early to catch the 8.30am ferry to Cherbourg, another beautiful day with thankfully calm seas as Mandy doesn't have great sea legs! Arrived in Cherbourg at 1.45 french time and had a 2 hour drive to a small town on the Brittany/Normandy border called Pontorson.

... a snipers dream. But despite many setbacks the Americans did eventually gain a foothold and managed to link up with The British and Commonwealth Troops who were further to the east of Normandy.


We then visited the cemetery and the sight of rows upon rows of crosses was quite breathtaking.

We spent an hour or so there and then it was time to move north up the Cotentin Penisular ...

... only 200+ drive-ons and three of us walk-ons. Security finally checked us through, which consisted of seeing our passports, once again. No search for nuclear weapons. Our van was ready to move the masses (3).

We were directed to the lift to take us to Reception to get checked in and get our cabin keys. Then, it was time to look around since it was already 9:30pm. Guess what? We have Internet on the ferry. It is a nice ship. Seems clean. ...

... First is my shampoo,CLEAR,Scalp and Hair beauty therapy,lavender container, available everywhere at home...200ml, and it has enough to last me until tomorrow and I have used it at least every 2 days,[with all my hair]..it's fantastic,you need so little..and a lovely product..
The next is the newer spray on body lotion, best invention ever...just the Vaseline,aloe vera..available at any Supermarket or Warehouse...so easy care ,and ...

... said a .4km walk that would take 20 minutes. AND I thought I would have cell phone coverage.
