... from the usual maintenance, painting and repairs we always have to do, our projects are done here and with itchy feet, perhaps it is time to find a new one. Will the boat sell next year? Who knows. Will I ever write that book? Not sure, but do know that I need to do something new or get involved in with a new interest to keep me going or I will end up like the other little old ladies up here in their cleaning tabards, lisle stockings and sensible ...

It was a long 5 hour drive today to get to the Pyrenees but it was worth every minute of it to round a corner and see the snow capped mountains in the distance. We also saw so many priests and nuns in full outfits strolling around. Prayers, masses, rosary and confession go all day every day. You can buy candles that are 2m high to put at the alters. Back on the train to Paris and our ...

... well guarded overnight by the owners friendly Alsatian. Rode the 16 km to Biert on now familiar road (felt the loose gravel on one corner). The obligatory cafe stop - spoke with Liz about my new plans of slowly getting to Pisa. My guess was correct Liz approved! What better way to fuel up for a 400 km + ride through some if the most spectacular mountains in Europe than a hearty steak lunch from Bruno's place (was better & much cheaper than the expensive ...
