10.30hrs. Leaving our rest home and heading south to Lourdes. Some 200 miles. The town of hope, healing and prayer. Great journey through the countryside. Fab to drive as roads great. I left as part of the last group with Dave and Linda, after 9am. Despite the later than usual start we didn't anticipate any problems as this was a short day on the bike, only about 75 km, and even though we were going to do the biggest climb in the Pyrenees it was still only one climb and despite being long the grades were almost always 8% or less.

We got some free climbing as the first 26 km south to Luz-St-Sauveur through Gorges de Luz ...
