... I spoke to someone at the station. I decided to rent a car. Nancy, a Honda N One, for 8300 yen. I bought some food and comtemplated sleeping in the car overnight if could find a place to shower and charge my electronics. I ended up checking in at Hotel Hokuou nearby. I walked into the back area thinking it was the office. I interupted a group of cranky older men who were smoking like chimneys while playing mah jong. As it turns out, that means there isn't a whole lot to see in Tsukuba, so we hung out in the local mall until it was time to check into ...

... we boarded the Tokaido line train for Shimbashi, there was an announcement and most of the people got off the train. Owen had to find out from the driver what had happened. Apparently, some one was injured on the line down the track and the train was not going to Shimbashi. We had to change to the Yamanote line. If this were to happen on the Sydney trains, it would stop all the trains. There was no other alternative to change ...
