... which had been saved from destruction by the communist regime because of its architectural interest. We walked around the city center for a short time prior to entering the tiny mosque. We were accosted by street kids trying sell us "plasters"=band aides . I visited with one; he spoke excellent English which he said he learned at school.

We stayed in once onboard--just too tired!!

... We are talking about "Coping With Life's Anxieties" so I spend some time adapting it to today's audience.

At 4.00 I head back out to the meeting. Speaking of anxieties, I have some myself when it looks like I have jumped on the wrong bus. It is raining quite heavily so it is not easy to see where I am going. But, it heads the right way. I am at the hall just after 4.30. Tirana clearly had a lack of places to see and things to do, but this perceived negative actually had a silver lining as it gave the city a somewhat relaxed feel. Suddenly we did not have to race around seeing every possible site, we now had time to sit down, put our feet up and watch the locals go about their business. ... the hardy sun worshipers. So many people are extremely tanned. When travelling in Albania on their main highway that consisted of single carriage way, we were forced to join a long queue of cars due to a traffic accident up ahead. Cars then began to pass us on the right, causing four lanes of traffic. A police car screamed pass us on the left, unbelievably followed by a stream of cars, only to be greeted by a bus coming ...

As the sun set over Tirana, Mom and I walked back to our hotel, stopping in an optical shop. Mom gave me her large eyeglasses case to replace the sunglasses case I lost earlier today. I then bought Mom a smaller case for her eyeglasses. That problem resolved, we got to the Best Western Nov at 7:07.
