... blowing my nose. It's red now. My dslr was battery dead from Paris so I brought up a camera for nothing. My phone kept being bipolar and would die at random percentages. Then I would restart it and it would come back at a higher percentage than preciously so I had to a reviving Jesus phone all day. Lunch was gross. We got a packed one and all the restaurants at Jungfraujoch cost 20 francs at least so that was out of the question. The Ice exhibit had the ...

We set out for the Swiss Alps this morning, sad to say goodbye to Italy but looking forward to free bathrooms at rest stops that actually have toilet seats as well. Again the views are incredible on this drive, first along the sea coast of the Italian riviera up to Genova and then over through Milan and then past gorgeous vistas of Lake Como and on to the Swiss Alps. Grindelwald is in a beautiful location, and the higher we went, the more the mountains rose up to meet us.

At the top, we started right away ...

After a week of great rides (over 500 miles) through the Black Forest in Deutschland / Schwarzwald (German for Black Forest), we rode 5 hours on Saturday, mostly in light rain, on the Autoban. After 3+ days of a 90+ European heat wave, it was kind of refreshing. We arrived at our first Swiss destination, Lauterbrunnen, up the mountain from Interlaken, in the shadow of the Eiger. This "valley" makes Yosemite look like a small trench. Our ...

... way back down we had to take a detour because of a shooting range, and got poured on! But it was all in good fun and thankfully we didn't have to take transit back down to our campsite. Instead our nice warm RV was waiting for us at the bottom of the mountainside. Drove that back to the campsite, had a swim/shower, Clay got to BBQ our dinner, and now we are computing and resting up for tomorrow.

          Pics later ...
