... was closed on Monday so we changed our plans and decided to visit the Trummelbach Falls in Lauterbrunnen. We had the bright idea to hike down the mountain and then walk to the Falls. On the map it appeared we would reach the Falls before Lauterbrunnen. The hike was an hour straight down the mountain. No level ground or step up just straight down with turns in the path ...

... there is a research facility and a tourist centre. There is a display on how everything was originally done back in the 180's when Jungfrau was first climbed. There was a nice palace that was entirely made from ice. Ice walks floors roof and ice sculptures. It was bloody cold in there, no surprise.

... green and the lakes and rivers, along with the mountainous backdrops, are breathtaking.

We had an afternoon photo stop at Neuschwanstein which is a castle 1.5 hours from Munich. Not just any castle though. This is the castle which Disney's castle image on the opening credits of their movies is based on. It had scaffolding around a large part of it which was annoying but aside from view of the castle, in and around it is something I hope I'll never forget.

We ate a local bar that had a live band, but since us early birds got a table at 7, we only got to see the warm-up, which was still quite pleasant. The bass player strummed right next to my ear as a I dipped my bread in the steaming pot of swiss cheese, who can complain about that situation? (I'm fortunate to be slightly deaf so the bass player sounded like he was 20 yards away---I am not sure if bridget could say the ...
