It was so cloudy we couldn't see anything, except the occasional rock down below. ...

... but our legs want more oxygen so huff and puff we are doing. We can now see down a huge valley back towards where we started and the pass in sight in front of us. This is not going to be easy! We climb over a small hill and can now see down to Lake Luzern and where we started yesterday in Fleulen. looking down is certainly better than looking up at where we have to go. Sweat is already pouring off me and we are just beginning to get to the steepest ...

... River, which has a series of locks and viewed the gable paintings, some very macabre. Next it was on to view the Lion Monument which is carved into natural rock. This was done in 1820 in memory of the Swiss heroes who gave their lives at Tulleries, Paris 1792.
Brian and I opted to take a train back up the mountain to Engleberg. The sun is shining and it has got warmer again. Tomorrow were off to Austria.

      Auf Wiedersehen.
