... in our tent after a day of horrible weather.
We were joined by a torrential downpour just as we finished our desserts. It continued raining throughout the night and being on a slope was not helping the sleeping situation. On a plus though, we had been super prepared this evening with extra layers so we were not cold during the night. If anything, we were both a little too toasty, even Ness!

Night night from the gloomy, but still stunning, Swiss Alps

... border by then for our journey south.
The trip through to Interlaken was breathtaking. Couldn't stop from taking photos but photos really don't do it justice. Just stopping in some of the villages, looking out to the hills with the covering of mist and the little streams running beside you as you look out over the houses nestled beside a beautiful lake, it can't all be captured with the snap of a camera. You can imagine our surprise when it wasn't a person at the end of the rope but a cow! We tried to take ...

... up a few stairs and hills, but no, it’s all down to the rather high altitude. I’m about 4000m above sea level now and this is what is making me struggle. Now where did I put those chocolates???;-)

Finally I’m out on a magical viewpoint looking down on the lower peaks. One area looks like it’s simply a sea of ice in a valley between the mountains and is simply just beautiful.

To hike or not to hike, that is the question. Inwardly, I am leaning toward a train to Interlaken and maybe a swim in the lake. We have a nice breakfast and are still undecided. Getting back to the room, I tell Carol if we are taking the train we have 25 minutes to get ready and I jump in the shower. When I get dressed it is closing in on train time and I say something, which is when Carol says we are hiking. Probably because, I had threatened to put in the ...
