There are other santons that represent Biblical figures, and it's very popular at Christmastime to create a creche of santons using both the Biblical people and the 18th-c. townspeople. Bought some salad veggies and fruit for lunch, plus a serve of the local speciality 'socca' - chick pea flour and olive oil baked in a pizza oven on enormous round trays. Delicious! Also both had a hair cut with a lovely French lady ...

... realised that the highway was significantly further away than originally anticipated and that by the time we would have got a lift, that was not certainly headed the entire length of our journey, we could get back to the station by the end of the strike and catch the first train out. So after much disappointment and a shot in the heart to our pride, we decided to walk to the closest tram, and catch it back to the station. Well, as we could not find a ticket machine at the tram stop ...
