Agnès took us by the oldest bookstore in Nice: it was used by Queen Victoria when she used to holiday on the Cote d'Azur. We also walked by the oldest shop, which sells umbrellas, parasols, and walking sticks. Most of the old town is already decorated with flags for Sunday's festival.

We went into Nice's cathedral, which, of course, is ...

We made multiple stops on the way to Nice, each time people would bump our chairs the station would make announcements and the lights would be blinding. When we were riding lots of snoring, coughing and people reclining on top of me hindered any rest we attempted. On the way home we paid the 20 euros to upgrade to a "private room" ...

... the remaining length to the station and board an absolutely crammed train toward Italy. We felt like sardines in a can as everyone was shoulder to shoulder and keen to get to the train due to the strike. Most passengers got off at Monaco and we continued on to Lake Como via a change in Milan. Sure not to arrive on time thanks to French rail, we were not certain exactly how we would reach our hostel, which was 40min drive from the station. But I guess we would cross that bridge when we get ...
