This would be the last time we see our extremely helpful host. After a lovely continental breakfast, we head off once again to explore. My 'Hong Kong Book of Kung Foo' informs me that Udine has a turbulent past. It goes on to say that the Celts, Romans, Austrians, Germans, and the ...

The apartment is nothing to get excited about, but it's only 1 night and it's relatively inexpensive! We have loved every minute of our travels in Slovenia. Tomorrow we will drive through the country's only national park, which has 50 hairpin turns...something tells me that will be both exciting and ...

... top, we see that it really is quite a big hole! It is smoking ever so slightly and we are surprised to note that it is at the top of the crater, not at the bottom where we would expect. We have about an hour’s round trip and are all glad we came. It is a slow descent (Rubes likes downhill almost as much as uphill) where we all come to a grinding halt as the bus in front of us meets 2 buses coming the other way on a bend and the tour guides from the buses have to get out to ...
