Property is owned by a local lady, and operated by his dad. Went for walk around village and to lake in arvo - strong winds and rain set in but looks like a good place to come back to. Cab fare from Como is 20€ but bus and ferry also available. Too wet to go out for dinner so ate at in ...

... to Parma, good relaxed scenery and before long we arrive. We then have to work out which train to get on to get to Aulla. We have a bit of a panic but then work out we have to get on the train to Spezia, this gives us an hour to spare so we head out and take in the sights of Parma. It seems like a lovely little town, quite sleepy. We don't go far and decide on having a couple of beers. Rhid has some fast food Kentucky Fried Rat Burger stuff which he instantly regrets. Soon enough ...

Breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the battistero and the cathedral. Found a deli and bought up big - parma ham, parma cheese, balsamic, Lambrusco and olive oil. Lunch out at La Forchetta - just below our room window! Highlight was the Aubergine parmagiana with smoked cheese. Beautiful old town... Now enjoying the local produce at home with a bottle of ...
