We felt we needed an easy day today, for reasons explained later, and had an fairly late breakfast before strolling out to see the remaining churches and artworks in Parma. Incidentally, the trattoria we had intended to return to last night was closed, so we tried another - the Trattoria Tribunale - which turned out to be not only more pleasant, but also cheaper!

Now we appreciate of course that we have only been here 48 hours. Many would say that we have no right to make such conclusions on such a short stay, and certainly these are only first impressions, not second thoughts. Parma has indeed much commend it. Some fantastic art in the galleries and churches, ...

... she was quite gob smacked when she saw the room. The brochure descibes it, accurately, as "elegant", and you can see from the photo, that it certainly appealed to both Liam and Sarah, though she is looking a little askance at his leering grin ....

We had time for a look at the Cathedral of course, which has the most fantastic frescoes, including the world famous dome by Corregio, and the Baptistery, which is equally as good. ...
